To my Greyhounds friends,
Last Tuesday (June 24th) I celebrated my 9th Birthday, well at least my guardian told me it was my 9th birthday (do we dogs really have a concept of time?). I do know that I am older now, and have slowed down from a year ago. Nonetheless, he brought home a bone shaped cookie which he shared with me during the day. You see, I really wasn’t feeling my best that day. I was still battling the big “D” (diarrhea) since it had hit me the Friday before. Monday evening, I was switched over to a bland diet of rice/cottage cheese/ and some kibble. I thought it tasted a little funny, but I was told that was because medicine was mixed into it. You see, I was told I had diarrhea from a Giardia infection, and I needed the medicine to combat it. I guess this is my fault, I get so thirsty when I walk that I will stop and drink from any puddle that I get near. But, on hot days we go to the park, where I get to soak in the same creeks, or ponds that the geese use. You know those geese sh*t everywhere, even in the water. I am thirsty so I take a few laps of water in.
Well that Tuesday after finishing my cookie, going for a walk, I was ready for a siesta.
Just wanted to let you all know I got better, and that I am looking forward to a dynamic 10th year.
Zack (as told to me)
